TAA's 2008 Education Conference keynote speaker

Nolan Ryan
Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher

TAA is proud to welcome Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan as the keynote speaker at the General Opening Session on Thursday, April 24. Attendees will experience an exciting and motivating session with one of Major League Baseball’s most celebrated players.

In a career that lasted 27 years, Ryan set or broke 51 major league records and is the only player in major league history to have his uniform number retired by three different teams (the California Angels, Houston Astros and Texas Rangers).

Since retiring from baseball, Ryan has been an active businessman. He has owned two banks, a restaurant, several cattle ranches, and the minor league affiliate of the Houston Astros, the Round Rock Express, as well as other business ventures, while providing extensive public service to organizations such as the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, the Nolan Ryan Foundation and the Texas Heart Institute’s National Advisory Council, just to name a few.
